How Does It Work
The masseters are muscles around the jawline and if overactive, can create a wide jaw. As a result this gives the appearance of a square shaped lower face. Our non surgical jaw reduction procedure uses masseter injections to provide a quick, painless solution. The overall result is a slimmer lower face.

Results
Jaw slimming injections are an in-clinic procedure that takes less than 30 minutes. However, the first step is a free assessment with our medical team to assess your suitability for jawline slimming injections. In this free assessment, they will go over everything involved in treatment, including possible side effects.

As with any muscle relaxing injections, there is a risk of tenderness, redness, bruising or swelling immediately after injection. The bruising can take up to 10 days to clear, with makeup used as an interim measure. However, the other side effects tend to settle within two days.
More severe side effects can occur if the muscle relaxants migrate into the surrounding masseter muscle. In this instance, chewing can be affected. For this reason, you must not rub the area nor undertake any strenuous exercise for 4 hours after jaw injections.

What should I expect during the treatment?
Prior to your treatment, a local anaesthetic will be used to numb the areas that will be injected, ensuring you’re comfortable throughout.
To slim the jawline, the masseter muscle is injected with anti-wrinkle injections several times. Doing so will gradually soften the jaw and prevent any further damage to the teeth. If you do grind your teeth, you will also experience fewer headaches and less jaw pain.
How soon you’ll require another treatment will depend on how quickly your body metabolises the injections.
Anti-wrinkle injections only take effect after several days. You may also notice some bruising and redness around the injections sites. Some tenderness may also be present but will fade within a few days. Patients are discouraged from lying down for a few hours after treatment and vigorous exercise is also not recommended for a few days. Any unnecessary movement of the jaw should be avoided for several hours after your treatment.
How can you tell if you have strong masseter muscles?
If you clench your teeth, the masseter muscles bulge out to the side of the face. You can feel them by pressing in the middle of the cheek as you clench and release your teeth.
Face slimming involves anti-wrinkle injections to reduce the size of the masseter muscles. This reduces the width of the lower face, and brings the face shape to being oval. By making the lower face less prominent, attention is drawn to the cheek bones and eyes.
How do large masseter muscles make the face shape square?
Because it’s quite a large muscle and in the middle of the cheek, the masseter has a big effect on the shape of the face. A strong masseter muscle makes the face look square. After treating the masseter muscle, the face shape becomes more oval or heart-shaped. When treated, the area under the cheek becomes less wide.
