This is an innovative gentle laser treatment that uses focused light beam to treat skin imperfections and to provide an immediate, refreshed appearance which makes the skin look smoother and firmer.
Laser carbon facial will refresh and improve the look of skin, and will assist people with oily skin, enlarged pores, and acne. This treatment is suitable for all skin types and is particularly effective on darker skin types resulting in a brighter, smoother complexion.
Your face is first cleansed and prepped, and then a carbon mask (Medical grade carbon cream) is applied to the skin – this acts as a photo-enhancer and it looks similar to a mud mask. The carbon is then activated by the laser so that it penetrates deeper into the skin. The light is absorbed by the carbon removing the dirt, oil and dead skin cells from the epidermal layer, causing contraction of enlarged pores. This deeply exfoliates the skin and also helps stimulate collagen production. The treatment may feel warm as the laser passes over the skin. It will make a zapping sound as the carbon is vapourised from the skin.
The procedure is approximately 45 minutes to treat the face. It includes a cleanse, carbon mask application and a sequence of laser wavelengths and energy pulses. The treatment can be used on the: face, neck, décolletage, upper back and shoulders.
The treatment can be performed as a stand-alone treatment prior to an event but works best when there are several treatments over a period of time.
On average, clients need five sessions at 8-week intervals to achieve best results.
You will feel a slight warming of the skin throughout the treatment but it is not painful. Your therapist will make sure your experience is as comfortable as possible. And there will be little to no downtime post treatment.
Carbon laser resurfacing is a low-risk procedure with minimal side effects. Most people in Australia experience slight redness or a mild tingling sensation immediately after the treatment, but this usually subsides within a few hours. You might notice some light flaking as your skin naturally exfoliates over the next few days. There’s no significant downtime, and serious reactions are rare. Following your skincare professional’s advice for aftercare will help prevent any irritation.
The carbon laser peel, sometimes called the “Hollywood Peel,” is generally well-tolerated and pain-free. Many Australians describe the sensation as a light prickling or warmth on the skin. The treatment uses a low-energy laser, so discomfort is minimal. Some clinics also offer a cooling device during the procedure to further enhance comfort. Most clients find the experience relaxing, and the lack of downtime makes it an attractive option for those with busy lifestyles.
You begin to feel tangible results right after the treatment. Positive results are usually reported 2-3 days after the last session and continue to improve for several weeks following the treatments.
Day of appointment – avoid applying moisturisers or creams to the treatment area.
One week before – avoid using any pharmaceutical products on treatment areas such as photosensitising medications (vitamin A / retinol/ Hydroquinone) or prescription strength exfoliants.
Two weeks before – Avoid fake tanning, sun exposure and ensure that you are wearing sunscreen at all times.
After the treatment your skin will be immediately glowing. For most people, the following day is when the glow changes from fantastic to amazing.
There is no downtime and you may return to your daily activities. However, you should limit sun and heat exposure on the day of treatment.
Use prescribed hydrating serum or moisturiser as instructed.
Always apply SPF 30+/50+ during the day. Antioxidant protection is highly recommended.
Avoid active homecare products (containing Vitamin A, Vitamin C, AHAs and BHA) and skin exfoliation for 3 days after treatment.
A carbon laser rejuvenation treatment offers multiple benefits. It helps to deep-clean pores, reduce oiliness, minimise breakouts, and even out skin tone. It also promotes collagen production, improving skin texture and reducing fine lines over time. Many Australians choose this treatment to achieve a fresh, radiant glow without the need for harsh chemicals or invasive procedures. It’s also ideal for people looking for quick results without the downtime typically associated with more intensive treatments.
To further enhance the results of your carbon laser facial, many Australians opt for complementary treatments like LED light therapy, which can boost healing and reduce inflammation. A hydrating facial or chemical peel can also be used in combination to target deeper skin concerns. Regular use of quality skincare products, especially sunscreen and antioxidants, will help maintain the results of the treatment, which is particularly important in Australia’s harsh climate.
